Cats Lanyard

This is a crocheted lanyard for Shaunie to hang her UPM student card.  Catsssss!!!!

Kafiie's visit

Kafiie - the cute little buddy from my daughter's "We Love Catnip" series came by for a visit yesterday!  So, my little Bar Tender a.k.a Bucky a.k.a The Guy with the bow tie felt honoured and took a picture with her!

Typical beauty and the beast?
(Kafiie on the left and Bar Tender Bucky on the right.)

While they were having good time, the real beau Ms Divaa brought a friend, Mr Rexton to the hangout.  What a day to enjoy friendship!

(Bar Tender and Gang - Kafiie, Ms Divaa and Mr Rexton)

What a lovely bunch!  Our bar tender Bucky just love the "We Love Catnip" gang!

Domokun

Last night, at 1.15am. Done!  I completed the 2 Domo-kuns! Took about a week, shuffling between works, house chores and all.  Initially was only thinking of making one, but while I was making the first, it looks so cute and I thought I should make another.  I used 2 difference sizes' hook (wanted to experiment) and I've got a big and a small Domo-kun.

Our four-teeth domo-kun (done using size 4 crochet hook) and his little three-teeth brother (done with a size 3 crochet hook).  The number of teeth was unintentional.  I only realised I did a three-teeth after I finished cutting the felt.  Too late!

I got the pattern from Nerdigurumi.com who so wonderfully shares beautiful crochet free patterns, and one of them I used here.  Thank you!

and it is a Ghost!

Remember that curvacious green thingy I found in Shaunie's room, that she was half way crocheting?  I have been trying to figure out what will that turn out to be?  I found my answer today :

A Ghost from Pacman! This is definitely................. NOT scary.  Awww, so cute and such big eyes... !

another piece by Shaunie

A birthday Gift

Shaunie did this ami finger monster for Sheen Yeen's birthday.  Happy Birthday Sheen Yeen!  Hope you like it.   Yeah, the pink ribbon is not in this picture.  After we sewed in the ribbon, we forgot to snap the sweetie monster look.  :D

what is that?

I found this half done thing that Shaunie is working on.  She was not in her room and I took a photo of it without her knowledge.  Hmmm, what is this girl up to?  What is she trying to crochet?  My imagination is telling me something... but, I hope she is making something cute and decent.

Let's just wait and see.  When she complete her project, I'll definitely have it posted.  Stay tuned.

Another amigurumi guard

Our friend the palace guard felt so defeated after he was beaten flat by the lego minifigures.  So he went on a quest in search of a partner.  He has to go back and seek justice.....

He was ecstatic when he found our palace guard - the grey!  Though our Grey doesn't seemed to even know how to wear his uniform properly (see the crumples !)  Oh bother!

Black just wanted Grey to be able to fight the cause with him.  What cause?  What about it?  Go ask Jeremy!

Penguin Amigurumi

This purple penguin is an addition to Shaunie's many 'bedside buddies'! Another amigurumi pattern I got from the same book I did the carrot.  There are so many of these cute stuff and I wanted to make all of them!  I wanted to crochet so many many many things!  Opps, the kids gonna need another bed for their buddies!

Coloured Eggs

Eggs are good and nutritious, let's have some eggs for breakfast.
Huh?  so much colouring, no good for health !
Ok then, let's keep them as decorations?
(my own creations, with some leftover yarns.)

a carrot - planted and grown

Chanced upon some books on amigurumi and here we go - a little carrot planted and grown!  Then, we decided we should crochet more of it, not just carrot, but anything at all!  So, now we have a lot to do, a lot to learn.  Totally bowled over by the ideas!

So, my daughter Shaunie and I thought we should have a place to share  the excitement and joy of handicrafts. I've learn crochet from my mom but left the art untouched for years.  I'm now sharing it with Shaunie.  We are starting out together - for me, again, for her, a new hobby.

Shaunie picked out this carrot from a book we bought  '爱不释手的毛线娃娃' by' 米达' .  I made one with the pot, sewed on the eyes (haven't time to buy the plastic eyes yet!) and looks okay :D

That got Shaunie moving and this is her carrot, she called it the rotten carrot because she used a brown yarn.  I thought,  for someone who just started learning crochet, this is a piece a work to be proud of!
