Bookmarks

Experimenting with some bookmarks.  Going to crochet more of these.  I liked them!  I did the pattern in my head while crocheting it along.  Turn out to be not to bad.  The Yin Yang symbol is not that rounded as I wanted it.  Will try it one more time, or two, or three to perfect the round.   Then I thought I should learn to write down the patterns as I crochet, next time.

Anyway, I recalled what I did for one of those and so here I am, trying out writing pattern instruction for the very first time, on an easy piece :

Row 1 - chain 7

Row 2 - sc into 2nd chain from hook, sc into each chain (total 6 sc), turn

Row 3 - chain 1, sc into 1st stitch, sc into next stitch, repeat another 4 times (6 sc), turn

Row 4 - repeat row 3

Row 5 - chain 4, dc into 3rd stitch, dc into 4th stitch, chain 1, dc into 6th/last stitch on row, turn

Row 6 - chain 3, dc into 2nd stitch, chain 2, dc into 5th stitch, dc into 6th/last stitch on row, turn

Row 7 - repeat row 5, turn

Row 8 - repeat row 2 to row 4, turn

Row 9 : repeat row 5 to row 8, turn

Continue the respective rows until desired length.

Repeat row 2 to row 4, chain 1, sc around the 4 sides/edges of the bookmarks until finish.

Next row - sc dc on 1st 2 stitched, sc for the next 2 stitches, sc dc for last 2 stitches, turn.  sc dc twice, turn, sc dc, sl st and fasten off and weave in balance yarn.

Tassel: Cut 8 inches length, pieces of thread, insert hook into the point of the  end triangle shape, fold pieces of thread over hook, pull up a loop (with pieces of thread), take hook out of loop and pull loose ends through loop and pull taut. Trim tassel to desired length.
I hope the instruction is workable.  Do let me know if it went wrong anywhere.
Have fun trying it out.
